Mother and Baby on Floor

We provide specialist support to families through a range of tailored interventions designed to promote safety, stability and positive parenting both in our Parenting Assessment centre and in the community.

What We
Offer

Standard Parenting Assessment

Family Support Workers are available 24/7 to provide the individual/family with the necessary support and/or appropriate monitoring if required. Standard Assessment allows the family a greater level of freedom to develop and demonstrate their parenting skills. If the identified risks are low the families spend longer periods without the need for direct input, but support is always given for any identified parenting skills that are needed.

Parent Assess Parenting Assessment

Our ParentAssess Parenting Assessment is a trauma-informed, child-focused tool designed to evaluate a parent's ability to meet their child's needs, especially in complex cases.

It explores parenting capacity, safety, routines, and emotional connection, offering clear, strengths-based recommendations to support informed decision-making.

Welfare Checks

At TMHO we take pride in ensuring that parents are able to create a safe, empowering and nurturing environment for them and their child/children. We provide this service on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis. This also includes bank holidays and public holidays such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Welfare checks are visits carried out of by our family support workers. These checks are used to support families by conducting visits in their homes, observing the family in question. Welfare checks are used to provide evidence of the that may or may not be in the best interest of the child in question provided by their family.

At TMHO, our family support workers will provide reports for every visit completed. All reports will focus on providing a fair and evidence-based assessment of parenting skills and capacity, based on the individual family’s needs, in a secure and nurturing environment. The reports will cover all aspects of the welfare visit and will look specifically into the areas of concern outlined by the family in question case manager or social worker. The purpose of the report will be to provide other professionals working with the family an independent picture of the case.

All Residential Services Include the following:

  • Parenting Assessments

  • Workshops Outreach Activities

  • Introductory and Living Food Essentials

  • Household Essentials

  • Weekly reports

Intensive Parenting Assessment

In some cases, where there is an identified risk of harm, or the risk is unknown TMHO acknowledges the need for an Intensive Assessment. Intensive Assessment generally involves various staff members in different roles depending on the level of support/monitoring that is required. For example, where Compensatory parenting is required or to support transition into the assessment a dedicated Residential Social Worker and a designated Key Worker is assigned to the Family to provide 1:1 support in the home. If there’s a requirement, 1:1 support can be extended in the community to perform daily tasks, routines i.e. local doctor and hospital visits, registration of birth, shopping, children centres, parks, libraries this is not an exhaustive list. Contacts is supported, additional travel charges will apply.

Edge of Care

At TMHO it is our mission to encourage, nurture and inspire the families that we work with. We believe in delivering a level of support which provides families with the tools needed to thrive as a unit.

Our TMHO family support workers possess a range of skills and knowledge to provide various intervention support packages. This allows us to help families develop and enhance their parenting skills, family life, improve the parent-child connection and equip them with tools which promote a more harmonious environment.

Our team is available to provide this service on a 24-hour, 7 days a week basis. This also includes bank holidays and public holidays such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. This also includes the arrangement of allocated hours, short-term and long-term care packages.

Step down Residential Support

Our Step-Down Residential Support offers a safe and structured environment for mothers and babies transitioning from high-level interventions to more independent living. We provide ongoing parenting support, emotional and therapeutic input, and help with daily routines and life skills. This services bridges the gap between intensive assessment and independent living, ensuring families are supported, confident, and ready for their next step.

Would you recommend our services?

Yes -they had excellent communication and worked incredibly hard in trying to engage a complex case I had referred. Despite the mothers own needs and vulnerabilities, they always prioritised the safety of the baby.
